Alexander Wang Spring 2018 New York Fashion Week show Turned the Streets into Catwalk

Wangfest

Alexander Wang’s Spring 2018 fashionshow may have took it a little too far, according to some. In an attempt to pull off a cool, secret party atmosphere, the fashions how took place in the streets of Brooklyn. A party bus with the It Girl ‘guestlist’ of models arrived. They showed his collection by walking straight out of the bus. The idea was to create a low profile, street style fashionshow. Taking fashion to the people by including people who happened to be in the area as well as fans who follow the brand. Taking fashion out of the exclusive invite-only scene onto the streets and taking the runway out of its usual routine is renewing. The idea behind Alexander Wang’s stunt could have worked. Only the fashion show started late, letting press waiting lined-up on the streets and was over pretty soon. So, the question is: Was it worth the wait?

Streetstyle

For a fashion show that took place on the streets, it stayed true to the concept. The collection was streetstyle all the way. Kaia Gerber opened the show, now officially following her mothers – Cindy Crawford – footsteps. This was her first time attenting New York Fashion Week as a model. Followed by regulars Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, the models strutted the runway turned street fashionshow.
